Obsessive Love Disorder (OLD) is a psychological phenomenon that is increasingly prominent in contemporary romantic relationships, triggered by a combination of intrapersonal factors, developmental experiences, and the influence of digital culture. This research aims to analyze the psychological and social impact of OLD and develop a holistic awareness approach as a preventive and curative strategy. The research method uses a qualitative-descriptive approach through literature study and phenomenological analysis of the dynamics of obsessive relationships in the modern context. The results showed that OLD was closely related to insecure attachment patterns, childhood emotional trauma, low self-esteem, cognitive distortion, and intensification of digital interactions. The impacts that arise include emotional disturbances, decreased relationship quality, increased risk of harmful behaviors such as extreme control and stalking, and decreased social functioning and productivity. These findings confirm that the lack of understanding of the boundaries of healthy relationships and high digital exposure reinforce obsessive tendencies. Holistic mindfulness approaches—including psychoeducation, emotion regulation, cognitive reconstruction, identity strengthening, digital relationship management, and integrated relational interventions—have been found to be effective in increasing self-awareness and building more adaptive relationship patterns. This study recommends strengthening emotional and digital literacy and developing integrative psychological interventions to prevent and overcome OLD in the context of modern society.
